The HPS120 mid-range storage appliance with Realtime Adaptive Cache
Technology (REACT) delivers balanced throughput and IOPs performance
in the industry's highest density and energy efficient platform.
Featuring up to 60 drives in just 4U of rack space and designed for
mixed workloads the S2A6620 delivers up to 350,000 IOPS from its
12GB of mirrored, battery backed-up cache, and 2GB/s of sustained
bandwidth for large file throughput. Scaling to 120 drives with the
addition of a single 4U expansion module and the ability to combine
SATA, SAS and SSD drives within a single appliance, the HPS120 is a
differentiated solution that is perfect for diverse workloads and a
wide range of requirements.

Intermixing high-performance SSD and SAS drives with high-capacity SATA drives ensures that data resides on the drive technology that best meets its requirements and provides the flexibility to migrate drive technology along with varying application needs. The HPS120's enclosure-level drive intermixing and exceptional per-drive performance reduces the number of drives needed to meet growing performance and capacity demands - lowering both acquisition and operational costs.
SATAssure enables the HPS120 appliance to manage large pools of SATA storage with enterprise-class performance, reliability and data integrity. When most storage systems detect data corruption on a drive, they immediately fail it and begin a rebuild. While the rebuild operation is in process those systems experience degraded performance. With today's large capacity SATA drives, the rebuild process can take hours to complete and can occur frequently. SATAssure reduces the requirement to fail and rebuild entire drives by validating the integrity of data on every read operation - detecting and correcting corruption that would initiate a drive rebuild in other storage systems. SATAssure repairs the data on-the-fly sending the host computers only the correct information, while repairing the faulty data on the drive.
